 Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep ruby colored, full-bodied with complex notes of vanilla, tea, nutmeg, plum, blackberry and marmalade. Spices and chocolate flow into red and black fresh fruits, with ripe tannins carrying into a lingering, pleasant finish.
 Merlot

Ruby red wine with complex aromas of vanilla bean and toasted oak sparked by ripe black plums and sweet black cherry jam. Rich black stone fruit on the palate followed by spicy oak results in a delicious, mouthcoating wine with dense textures.
 Carmenère

An alluring example of the Bordeaux variety that was considered long-lost until it was rediscovered in Chile a decade ago. Deep ruby color with notes of ripe red fruits, spices, tobacco, pepper and cedar. On the palate it is very approachable thanks to its ripe tannins, good balance, and long, pleasant finish.

 Claret

ChardonnayA unique blend of four premier varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Petit Verdot) blossoms with the luxurious aromas of ripe black berries perfectly balanced with toasted French oak.
 Chardonnay

ChardonnayPale golden wine with a bouquet and palate of pineapple, ripe tropical fruits, peach and a hint of citrus. Full, fresh flavors result in a well-balanced and medium-bodied wine with a long, pleasant finish.
 Sauvignon Blanc

Pale straw color with soft green hues. On the nose, it has fresh notes of lychee and lemon zest with hints of grass and tropical fruits. In the mouth it shows lovely acidity, appealing brightness and good volume with a long, pleasant finish.

 Pinot Noir

A deeply concentrated wine: ripe red fruits with notes of black pepper, coffee and a touch of oak. Cherry and plum flow into chocolate and violets.
 Reserve Wines — Block Selections

Our Reserve wines accentuate the varietal distinctiveness of Viña la Playa’s grapes, and a genuine expression of their terroir.

Our reds come from the Colchagua Valley; our whites from the Limarí Valley. Reserve vines are cultivated within the best blocks in our vineyards – planted exclusively for the Reserve collection - and at each harvest, grape clusters are hand-sorted for superior fruit.

La Playa barrels These wines are more concentrated than our Estate Varietals, and the red wines in particular have substantial complexity. The finest European equipment - purchased expressly for the Reserve program - achieves very gentle processing techniques. Small-lot volumes are produced separately and blended before bottling.

Reserve white wines are fermented in French and American oak, and both reds and whites are aged in small oak barrels. The Chardonnay is typically aged for 8 to 10 months, while the red wines are aged for 14 to 18 months.
